It would be ideal if there was a machine that you could stand in and set a program to fix a certain part of your body, flick the switch and be fixed, right? Program 1 nose job: beep! Straightened!! Program 2 Narrow thighs: beep! Done!! The day is soon coming when some mad inventor makes billions for providing such a marvel. As it stands almost everyone wants to ammend at least one thing about their body, or maybe even add something new!

Until such a thing happens, we're pretty much stuck with targeting our problem area with some wacky technique, or even with sound healthy advice and working on it over time on our own, or with the help of a doctor. One body part that many people wish they could change about themselves is their chin and neck area. Who wants to have a double chin? Just mentioning the term double chin sends alarm bells signalling. And yet many, many people have one and don't know how to get rid of double chin.

So what can you do to lose a double chin if you have one? Part of this will depend on genetics and your overall body make up. Answer honestly - Are you overweight? If you have a double chin chances are that you may be so. To the earlier point, genetics may cause you to carry extra fat on your neck, even when you're at a healthy weight.

It's almost impossible to lose fat on one targeted area of your body alone. You can stress the muscles in a certain area, but you can't make fat go away in one place. So if you have you sights set on getting rid of double chin, first up you will need to do what it takes to lose fat: adopting a low calorific diet and start exercising regularly.

This is generally considered the best way to lose weight overall, but losing weight is the only solution for how to reduce double chin fat also. The good thing about it though, is that it works! Eureka! So once you start shedding overall body fat, the double chin will get it's marching orders. This can be a really rewarding thing to experience. I've had this very experience myself. Apart from meeting your goal of losing your double chin, you look and feel healthier and thinner overall and you will elevate your self esteem.

If stubborn genetics cause you to carry excess chin fat when the rest of your body is of normal proportions, there are some other ways you might consider to reduce your double chin. If you follow specific exercises that target the right neck and facial muscles, you can tone and tighten these muscles that will stop your chin from sagging so much. This will not eliminate all of the fat, but it can certainly help lift your double chin.

Remember even if you're working on losing weight in order to get rid of a double chin, you can also consider trying these exercises along with your diet to help you achieve a better looking chin sooner rather than later.
